So I was absolutely determined to park my butt at my computer desk this morning and get the editing done on the video Ryan and I filmed where he does my make up. To start I needed to A) learn how to use iMovie B) use my new editing skills to actually edit the jumbled mess that is the video and C) upload the video to youtube and this little blog of mine. I haven't even watched most of the clips since the night we filmed it and as I started re-watching it I just was so not happy with the outcome. The room is too dark so you can hardly see what's going on, my camera died somewhere in the middle and cut a bunch of chunks of annnd to be honest it kind of just made me not want to post the video at all due to it's poor quality. I'm thinking once I get the hang of the iMovie I'll put together some of my favourite clips and then post that or we will just refilm completely in the day light! So, coming to the end of that ramble, I was really in the blogging mood today and wanted to get a little post up. I figured another post of make up on my own face might be a little boring, and with no models at hand to dress up, why not share some of the products I have been obsessing over the month of January! I have a love/hate for these posts... When I read another bloggers list, I usually always feel the need to go out and buy basically everything and try it for myself. You can never have too much make up, right? I keep telling myself that but my bathroom counter, my boyfriends side of the counter, and all the drawers in our bathroom keep telling me differently.
With that being said, let's get into it!
All things lips...
Nice by Motives for LaLa, Future Red by Nars, Heroine, Ruby Woo and Rebel all by MAC
I feel like these explain themselves. How could you not have these babes in a constant rotation? I'm drooling at that line up.
Raspberry Rhapsody, Signature Scarlet and Petal Plush
These beauties are the new Color Elixir's from Maybelline. The shades and their cute packaging caught my wandering eye when I was browsing through the drugstore beauty aisle but their long lasting wear has kept these a staple in my make up must haves this month. LOVE!
Big Bang and Nova by Rimmel Apocalips. Creamy and pigmented... what more could you want?
My Sigma Beauty Kabuki Brush set. Includes the F80 Flat Kabuki, F82 Round Kabuki, F84 Angeled Kabuki, F86 Tapered Kabuki and the F88 Flat Angeled Kabuki. Not all photographed because the others were a bit too dirty but now that I own these brushes I don't think I could live without them. They apply and blend your foundation like a dream. Buy yours here:
Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation. This is the only product I'm using for foundation right now. I have EXTREMELY dry and sensitive skin, and I just felt like my other foundations were really settling into my dry areas and not giving me the coverage I was needing... Until I met this little guy. He's a keeper.
L'Oreal True Match Crayon Concealer in Medium Deep and Covergirl Tru Blend Fix Stick in Fair. These products are virtually the same. They apply, blend, and wear pretty similar. I used these for contouring and highlighting this month and I just couldn't find the right shades by the same companies. A little insight into where I apply these on my face...
Heeeeeyyyyy
Motives by Loren Ridinger Glitter Pot Magic Dust. I mean, what can I say? I'm obsessed with a glittery eye. I have seen her glitter pots all over the internet and I knew I had to give them a try. I ordered a few products online, they arrived super fast and I have already become obsessed within one wear of this beauty. SHE'S JUST SO PRETTY. oh and easy to apply with Motives Glitter Adhesive which is just an added bonus. Buy her line here:
Last but definitely not least...
Josie Maran Whipped Argan Oil Intensive Hand Cream and the Josie Maran Argan Oil Hair Serum. OKAY, so, before I started using these products I was literally dealing with dry cracky hands and I hadn't found a lotion that was making them feel moisturized for a long period of time, until I met this angel. She comes every where with me and I feel like we are now life long friends. As for the hair serum, before her, I was using a handful of different products. One product for shine, one for moisture, one for this and one for that other thing, then she came into my life and she is my one stop shop product for shiny, healthy hair. It doesn't feel at all greasy, it moisturizes and makes my split ends non existent. How could you go wrong? Buy her products here:
Well that wraps it up on my January beauty favourites. I'm hoping to recruit one of my pretty face friends into letting me blog them this coming week so stay tuned for that. I'll use some of these products as well so you can have a peak as to how they look on the face. Thanks for reading :)
Later days,
Stevie
