Casting Sunkiss

How sad are we all feeling that summer is slowly coming to an end? I know for me that once the weather starts to change and I slowly start packing away my strappy sandals and my sun dresses and start pulling out my boots and sweaters I get the itch to dye my hair darker. I have spent a majority of the summer trying to get last winter’s dark dye out of my hair and journey back over to my birth-given right… Being blonde. Being blonde in the summer is much easier for me but going to the hairdressers once ever month and a bit is not easy for me to commit to in the summer months. I want to be care free! Let my hair just be wild & free… (as you will start to understand from the upcoming pictures. Lets just say I don’t brush my hair as often as I should and I wear a lot of ponytails) I started seeing a lot of commercials for the L’Oreal Casting Sunkiss jelly. It assured me the jelly would gradually lighten my hair and give me natural sunkissed locks. Being that I’m more of a make up product kind of girl vrs. a hair product kind of girl I didn’t really give it any thought to go out and purchase it. Until I was talking my daily stroll through Target and she was perched right on a side shelf with a sticker saying “sale: $6.99. you save $2.00) I thought why not… I was spending the weekend at the lake in the sun and I’m leaning towards getting rid of the blonde any way so minds well give it a shot before it's gone.

I applied the jelly to my hair twice on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The packing says it takes 3-5 uses and to be honest I didn’t think it made that much of a difference until I actually styled my hair finally when we got back into town on Monday, and now looking back at my before photo I’m really impressed with this product. I have very thick hair, and I just applied about a toonie sized portion throughout my whole head each day, twice a day. This product didn’t leave my hair greasy and actually made it feel really soft! I do have to add that my hair does naturally lighten on it's on from being in the sun, so I might of had a bit of an advantage but I’m still giving this product a thumbs up… If you’re looking for a quick, easy and affordable lightening pick me up, this is your girl.

Pretty impressive results for a $6.99 leave-in over the weekend product!

Makeup Geek

So, I don’t know if it’s just me or if it’s everyone or especially us make up junkie girls but receiving new make up in the mail makes me feel exactly how I did on Christmas morning when I was younger. It makes me feel even more ecstatic when it’s your makeup geek package you have been waiting on for 2 weeks… but the long wait is over. It’s finally here… and I thought it would be more than appropriate to share my goodies (not really MY goodies but you get the idea) with my fellow beauty lovers.

I have been hearing a ton of talk about makeup geek through social media, especially within the last 6 months for sure… I’ve seen a bunch of absolutely stunning pictures and tutorials using their products and then once I checked out their website and saw their prices I knew I was sold. Unfortunately so many of their products sell out as soon as they are back in stock and I wasn’t overly keen in just ordering a few at one time and waiting on others because I mean clearly I need them all. Then I got the email telling me my most wanted shades were back in stock! I picked up their 9-Eyeshadow Starter Kit ($49.99) the Utopia pigment ($6.99) and two other pans in Peach Smoothie and Mermaid ($5.99 each) now that these beauts are finally in my possession I must tell you… I am so THRILLED. They are stunning and packed with colour. It’s safe to say I’m going to be addicted to this company.

Anyways… enough chit chat lets get to the good stuff…
