Minimalist Glamour

Spring is here!! and it's feeling like SUMMER, which is even better. I got my first half-arm sun burn the other day while spending an afternoon on a patio with a few cold beverages. I wasn't even mad.

Now that "summer" is finally here, haha... I'm so pushing it right? I really start enjoying subtle makeup more and more. Eventually I just get to the point of a BB cream, a light fill in on the brows, waterproof mascara and a lip chap EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. but I haven't gone into complete beach bum mode yet. Right now for me it's perfecting the skin and giving it a beautiful glow that looks especially beautiful in the sunlight. I pair that with a bold lippy and something soft on the eyes and I'm like yes, this is the most beautiful look EVER. So it's safe to say when my girlfriend arrived from Vancouver, I wanted to attack her beautiful face with just that look! Here's a majority of what we used...

Spring Neutrals

Happy {belated} Easter! I hope everyone had a wonderful long weekend spent with family and friends just like I did. There's nothing more important to me than being with family and I spent every single day of it with them beside me and I'm forever grateful to be so lucky. This weekend was extra special because not only did my Mom get to come to town but so did my little sister and her equally amazing man. My sister is definitely topping the charts in my books for humour so having her here to make me laugh and smile all weekend was the best. Getting to do her makeup for Easter dinner was just icing on the cake!

I've been really into natural makeup looks as of lately. I've been keeping it really minimal on the eyes, using only two or three shades at most {yes, that's minimal in my world} and focusing on keeping the skin bright and glowing and using a pop of colour on the lips to pull the whole look together and keep it looking fresh! When I took a peak into my sister's makeup bag I was so excited to play with her new Nars duo and I was even more excited when I applied it onto her lids, SO BEAUTIFUL. So soft and gorgeous... Full details will be listed below! Lets get to the good stuff...

YASSSS!
the prettiest peach on the block

Primer: Nars Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base
Shadows: Nars Duo Eyeshadow in St-Paul-De-Vence. I used the peachy shimmery shade on the left all over the lid and the darker more matte shade on the outer corner. Crease colour is Mac Soft Brown and I popped Urban Decay's Venus on the centre of the lid to add more dimension. I also used this shade as her inner corner highlight and brow bone. Perfect combo!

 i LOVE you sister
Thanks for being the second best thing to ever pop out of Mom!

The bond.

your wholeness when you are broken;
your innocence when you feel guilty;
