Sweat Proof Makeup

I guess I shouldn’t be overly surprised between wedding planning and wedding appointments that I have completely forgotten about this blog. I really enjoy writing and I really enjoy makeup so I’m hoping to be feeling more inspired and spending more of my down time here.

This summer has been crazy and the weather even crazier. The heat has hit us hard and it was basically unbearable to find ways to beat the heat. I decided the best thing for my makeup game was to skip almost all eye makeup and focus on skin prep and create an {almost} flawless glowing face for day to day.

Prep:
After I wash my face - I’m currently using First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Wash and I’m obsessed. - I moisturize my skin and let that soak in for up to 30 minutes before applying my makeup. I then take my Smashbox Water Primer and doust my skin in it. I have extremely dry skin so I find I need to take a lot of steps to continue to keep my skin feeling full of moisturize.

Products:
To conceal my pores and prime my skin for foundation I have been looooving NYX Pore Filler. I then use my damp beauty blender to apply my foundation. Currently I’m using Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation which gives me skin a really soft all over glow. This foundation is pricey but worth it. If you’re looking for a cheaper alternative for a luminous foundation I would recommend trying L’Oreal Lumi!

To conceal my dark circles I have been using Maybelline Dark Circle Eraser in Brightening and to conceal and highlight I have been using the same Age Rewind Concealer in Fair. To set my concealer I have met my HOLY GRAIL Translucent Powder by Laura Mercier that literally gives an airbrush affect. I have been baking my powder over top of all the areas I conceal and highlight for about 1-2 minutes and then dusting it off with a fan brush. Your concealer will not budge throughout the day no matter what your activities are, and no matter how hot the heat is. This stuff is bulletproof! Yasss. I have been cream contouring with the Laura Mercier Contour Palette as I mentioned before I have dry skin. If you have oily skin I would suggest using powders to contour and bronze on the hot days. I have been skipping blush and just bathing in highlighter. My new favourite is the limited edition Sephora x Becca Cosmetics x Jaclyn Hill highlighter in Champagne Pop! I put this on the tops of cheeks and up towards my temples, down the bridge of my nose, on my cupids bow and a touch on the chin.

Set:
To set everything on the skin you will need a good setting spray. In the past I have used the Urban Decay Setting Sprays and they were amazing! Right now I’m loving L’Oreal Infallible Makeup Extender Setting Spray.

Now go find a patio and enjoy a cocktail!
